Back in the Untitled-1 xd file you created, CMD-V to paste the dark Status Bar. Select the dark Status Bar and press CMD-C. The build steps consist of just doing gulp build and ionic build ios, then just leaving everything alone in Xcode and building straight to phone. In the opened xd file, press Command+ to zoom in, and Space-click to navigate to UI Elements Bars. I'm not sure if this can be considered a fix, but I had the same issue, and I read somewhere that it is a bug in XCode 9 (I can't confirm that at this point), and after cleaning and rebuilding the app with XCode 8.3.3 the status bar was the correct color on the same iOS 11 device that had a white bar before, without making any changes to the code. This is what the status bar looks like on my local build: This doesn't resolve my problem completely though, as certain parts of the app now have a black bar at the bottom, so it's only half fixed. The bar was originally white, so you could not see any text, but I managed to fix that with cordova-plugin-statusbar.

However, when I build on my Mac locally, the app seems to start below the status bar.
When I build my app through PGB the status bar overlays the app correctly, so that the text appears on the dark background and everything is fine (see pic below). I have run into a problem with the status bar on iOS 11 when building locally, which seems to be fixed when building through PhoneGapBuild.
